Background of the Shot
Background of the Shot
"Mexico City is home to 22 million people and is nuts for lack of a better word. I got my phone stolen at a football game, watched small people wrestle, stumbled into an abandoned warehouse rave, ate pig head tacos and moshed at a rock festival on the F1 track. It's a place where I never felt in control of anything, it just sweeps you up and you have to just go along for the ride. But when you do embrace it, it's a fascinating city.
I took this shot near Alameda Central on our way to the historic city to scout some Bourdain shouts. He knows his stuff, I'll give him that, but so do these Mexican chefs. Top food, top people and despite getting robbed, I loved this city."
